I'm Gary Boyer, Certified Mortgage Planner & Branch Manager with Guarantee Mortgage Corporation. Welcome to my website! I think the true purpose of this page is very simple... Why should you work with me? The quick answer is that I love my job! Every day I get to help great people achieve their dreams. 
For many people, the home financing process can be an extremely frightening and overwhelming. Adding ignorance or discrimination into the process can make it that much worse for members of the Gay and Lesbian community. Too many people never take the chance to become a homeowner because they are intimidated and afraid of rejection because of their unique situation. That's why years ago I chose to specialize with the Gay, Lesbian, Bi and Transgender community. I'm extremely proud that a high percentage of my clients are Gay/Lesbian - but I don't discriminate, I'm happy to work with straight clients too! It doesn't matter if you are gay or straight - getting the right advice is very important. First, selecting the best financing for your situation is paramount. Secondly, and even more important is making sure your home financing is setup correctly. I've seen too many good people lose their homes when one partner suddenly passes away because the other partner was never deeded to the house - probably because it would have created a little more work for a banker. My commitment to OUR community extends beyond my office door. You will see me as a proud sponsor of everything from the Basic Rights Oregon, Equity Foundation & Portland Lesbian Choir to Portland's Architectural Heritage Center, Hospice, Portland Center Stage & many other fine community organizations. I also believe in having some fun along the way. That's why my Partner Michael and I developed Mort, the Mortgage Monkey as my mascot. Mort is our way of injecting a little fun into the process and removing some of the fear and intimidation. One of my favorite compliments from clients is that they called me because at least they knew I had a sense of humor! Michael, my Partner of twelve years, and I live with our two not so well-behaved terriers Maggie & Doogie in our latest project home in Southwest Portland. I guess we are gluttons for punishment because every time we get one home complete we end up selling it and starting the process all over again.
